For many adults, identifying the right level of care can be tricky. One day things are going okay, you're using your coping skills and taking your medications(if you are prescribed ), and the next thing you know nothing is working right. The first thing you should do if you feel you are in a crisis is call 988 or text 741741, that is the national mental health emeergency lines. I have outlined the following levels of care for your information in helping you decide what your current needs are.
1) Outpatient Therapy- In person or virtual treatment where people receive therapy for mental health issues or substance abuse issues while living at home and continuing their normal daily routines, like work or school instead of staying overnight at a facility.
2) DETOX- facilities that assist in the safe and medically monitored process of assisting people while the drugs and or alcohol leave the person's system, and ensure the pseron is physically stable and ready to begin therapy to overcome their addiction.
3) PHP- Partial Hospitalization Program- Intensive structured outpatient treatment program for adults with mental health ro substance use issues, done mostly in a group format and offer skills training adn medications management. The goal os to prevent inpatient hospitalization and to help transition people back to the community.
4) CCS- Community Crisis Stabilization- A short term overnight crisis program, that is an alternative to inpatient hospitalization. The average length of stay is 5 days and they are staffed 24/7. They offer a structured setting that includes individual ,group therapy and medication management.
5)CSS- Clinical Stabilization Services- this program is designed to provide clinically managed,inpatient residential treatment for those requiring acute treatment for substance use disorder but do not need medical dextoxification.
6) INPATIENT HOSPITALIZATION- intensive care that involves staying overnight in a facility to receive traetment for a mental health illness. Treatment can last from a few days to months depending on the patiet's needs. THis level of care rpovides immediate careand can protect the patient's safety and the safety of others. community.
